automatic-dishwasherSince many people lead a fast-paced lifestyles, an automatic dishwasher has become a necessity in their homes. It has proved very helpful in washing the dishes after entertaining guests or preparing simple family meals. The only thing you have to do is to scrape leftovers from the plates and glasses, rinse them under the tap, and put them in the dishwasher. You don’t have to do it immediately, as you can simply adjust a timer and let your automatic dishwasher work at night, or during the day when nobody is home! There are many advantages of an automatic dishwasher, apart from those which prevent wrinkled fingers and the old “dishwasher diarrhea” – a common ailment of teenagers.

* You can remove your dirty dishes out of the sink, and put them in the dishwasher, thus making your kitchen look neater and cleaner.
* In comparison with hand washing they spend less water and save time as well.
* Automatic dishwashers give better results not only in cleaning, but also in sanitizing dirty dishes. According to the statistics, the average bacteria count for machine-washed dishes is less than 1 per plate while those that remain after being washed by hand is approximately 390 count per plate!
* It never happens that the dishes are broken unless the dishwasher is loaded improperly.

If you have bought a new automatic dishwasher, make sure you read well the instructions on how to load and care of the appliance properly. It is necessary to understand the mechanics involved, and its special features. Besides, most new dishwashers come with a sample package of the recommended dishwasher detergent. However, if yours doesn’t, refer to the owners’ manual to see if they can recommend some.

Automatic Dishwashers

The purpose of the automatic dishwasher is to force hot water while dissolving a cleaning detergent and causing it to continuously flush the contents of the tub, removing food particles from the dishes, then expelling the contaminated detergent .Then, it refills hot water, flushes and rinses again, expels the rinse water, and finally dries the dishes.

Washing Systems

Automatic dishwasher has a remarkably designed irrigation or washing systems. Some have only one spray source at the bottom of the unit, while others can have many spray heads, some of them being located on “towers”. The distribution of water is performed through towers, into the revolving spray arms.

The Importance of Water

The role water has during the process of dishwasher washing, is to dissolve the detergent and then become the “carrier” to washing the dirty dishes. After this, clean and hot water must flush remaining soil and removing detergent from the surface of the dishes, drink ware, tableware, and cookware. The power of the dishwasher lies in forcing the water through the spray arms and water ports when the dishes become clean and sanitized again after they have finally been scrubbed.

Contrary to popular belief, a dishwasher functions with a minimal amount of water needed for washing the dishes. It does not fill up to the brim, as in that case a flood would appear each time you open the door during its cleaning cycle. In order to wash and clean your dishes as efficiently as possible, water is filled and expelled a couple of times during a cycle. An ordinary cycle uses between 6-10 gallons of water.
